  • Smooth Nearest Neighbour - Scaling is sharp but takes a bit more performance.
  • Linear - Scaling is smooth, but blurry.

Selecting a hardware renderer ( Software (hardware display) or OpenGL) enables Scaling quality if the Window scale factor is not an integer, Pause game when Steam overlay is open, and Use vertical sync. OpenGL (experimental) - the game uses OpenGL to render and draw the game.Software (hardware display) - the game uses a software renderer based on the CPU to render the game, while it uses the hardware device to draw the rendered image to the screen.Software - the game uses a software renderer based on the CPU to render and draw the game.At non-integer values, this enables the Scaling quality setting below. This setting is useful for larger resolutions, where this scale makes the UI extremely small and otherwise unusable. At 1.00 scale factor, the game runs at its original scale of 1 game pixel to 1 screen pixel. Fullscreen (borderless window) - exactly like Windowed, but with no window decorations, allowing the game to take up the entire screen space.ĭetermines the scale the game will be rendered at.The options available depend on your monitor. When Fullscreen is selected, you can also select the Display Resolution the game should run at.

Switching to and from the window (such as through Alt+Tab) will cause a short delay.

  • Fullscreen - the game is allowed to take over the screen output, allowing the game to achieve better performance than Fullscreen (borderless window).
  • Windowed - the game will run inside a window with standard decorations like minimise and close buttons.

The code is kind of ugly, but I have no idea how to make it much better, so any suggestions would be highly appreciated.Īlso, having JIT requires us to make mmap/mprotect less secure, but I have no idea how to do it better than just having a pledge for it. Instead, I opted for building OSMesa.so and tying it as a backend for Serenity's LibGL. The libGL.so library itself is not built by mesa, because we have no GLX or similar, and adding custom mesa frontend like, for example, Haiku does with its hgl is a bit over my head right now. Vulkan: Lavapipe (software rendering with LLVM) builds, but I have no idea how to test it.

Right now using LLVMpipe has 1.5x-3x better performance than LibSoftGPU, and on my PC brings HL to ~30 FPS which makes it actually playable :^) Tested this with 3DFileViewer and HL port. OpenGL: Softpipe (regular software rendering) and LLVMpipe (software rendering that's using LLVM for code generation and JIT compilation) are both working. Only software rendering is supported currently.
